Processor progress
Timeline processors run on a worker thread and can report bounded progress back to the host through the runtime context.
Report progress
Retrieve the callback from context["runtime"]:
report_progress = context["runtime"]["report_progress"]
report_progress(0.25, "Analyzing audio...")The first argument is normalized to the range 0.0 through 1.0. The optional message is shown as processor status text.
Recommended sequence
- Report an early value after initialization.
- Update progress at meaningful milestones rather than every tiny inner-loop operation.
- Keep messages short and user-facing.
- Return the processor result when work is complete.
Yrendr advances the final host-owned stages while it prepares and applies returned changes.
Tip: Progress reporting should be inexpensive. Do not turn it into a high-frequency logging channel.
