Plugin API overview
The Yrendr 1.1.0 plugin API retains the established 1.0 contracts for effects, generators, timeline processors, parameters and custom editors. The Graph Editor and main Inspector changes are editor-side UI changes, not a new plugin registration model.
Available extension types
- Video effects: operate on the image data routed through a Track or Master FX chain.
- Audio effects: process samples on the audio path of a Track or Master FX chain.
- Generators: produce procedural visual content that the host renders as reusable clips.
- Timeline processors: produce validated actions that add/change media or other timeline content.
A timeline processor can edit project structure; a generator produces visual frames. These remain distinct APIs in 1.1.
Packaging
Distribute a ZIP containing plugin.json plus the declared Python entrypoint. Register effects and processors using the existing register(api) contract. Stable plugin IDs remain important for previously saved projects.
UI compatibility
Native controls, custom editor windows and plugin window options remain available. In 1.1, the default custom-window header height and border radius come from the shared editor style constants. Explicit plugin window overrides remain supported.
Use the specific reference articles in this edition for signatures, parameter types, processor outputs and error handling.
