Timeline Processors Version 1.1Updated 26 Sep 2026

Processor progress

Timeline processors run on a worker thread and can report bounded progress back to the host through the runtime context.

Report progress

Retrieve the callback from context["runtime"]:

Python
report_progress = context["runtime"]["report_progress"]
report_progress(0.25, "Analyzing audio...")

The first argument is normalized to the range 0.0 through 1.0. The optional message is shown as processor status text.

  1. Report an early value after initialization.
  2. Update progress at meaningful milestones rather than every tiny inner-loop operation.
  3. Keep messages short and user-facing.
  4. Return the processor result when work is complete.

Yrendr advances the final host-owned stages while it prepares and applies returned changes.

Tip: Progress reporting should be inexpensive. Do not turn it into a high-frequency logging channel.
