Getting Started Version 1.1Updated 26 Sep 2026

Create a project

A Yrendr project defines the canvas, frame rate and default render quality for an edit. These settings can be changed later from Project Settings.

Create a project

  1. Press Ctrl+N or choose Menu > New project.
  2. Enter a project name.
  3. Choose a resolution preset or enter custom dimensions.
  4. Select the aspect ratio and frame rate.
  5. Choose the default render quality.
  6. Confirm the dialog to create the project.

Note: Creating a project does not create or embed source media. Imported files remain separate from the .yrendr project container.

Resolution presets

Preset Resolution
HD 1280 x 720
Full HD 1920 x 1080
QHD 2560 x 1440
4K UHD 3840 x 2160
Vertical 1080 x 1920
Square 1080 x 1080
Portrait 1080 x 1350

Custom dimensions are also supported. Yrendr keeps dimensions within the limits accepted by the project settings and render pipeline.

Aspect ratios and frame rates

Supported aspect-ratio shortcuts are 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:5, 4:3 and 21:9. Selecting one recalculates the height from the current width using even dimensions.

Available frame-rate shortcuts are 24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 fps.

Default render quality

Project quality can be Draft, Standard, High or Maximum. The project value becomes the initial quality shown in the Render dialog.

Tip: Changing quality in the Render dialog affects that render. Change Project Settings as well when you want a different project-level default.
