Welcome to Yrendr
Yrendr 1.1.0 is a free, non-linear video editor for Windows. This edition focuses on making animation, the Preview and the editing workspace easier to use while retaining the existing project model.
The editing workflow
Keep reusable images, video, audio, text, subtitles, shapes and supported generators in Project Viewer. Place instances on tracks in Timeline and inspect the selected clip's properties in Inspector. Preview shows the composed frame and lets you manipulate visual clips directly.
Graph Editor is now integrated into the Timeline dock. Open it with F3 to create and edit keyframes against the same time ruler as the timeline, rather than managing a separate Automation panel.
What's different from 1.0
- The integrated Graph Editor replaces the standalone Automation panel and offers Value and Speed views, multi-lane curves and Bézier handles.
- The Inspector organizes clip properties and track/Master effect chains into collapsible sections. Frequently used actions remain near the top.
- Project Viewer has a compact icon toolbar and improved source details. Text-source edits and text-clip edits have distinct behavior.
- Preview exposes its quality, canvas snapping, sound and zoom controls in a compact interface.
- Timeline editing tools use the Select, Move and Cut modes; the Graph Editor shares timeline navigation.
Compatibility and projects
Normal projects use .yrendr, a lightweight ZIP container with manifest.json and project.json. Source media stays external unless you use Package project... to create a portable ZIP with a media/ folder. Save a copy of a 1.0 project before first opening it in 1.1.
Yrendr plugin effects remain on Track and Master chains. Existing plugin API contracts are retained in 1.1; plugin window default styling follows the shared editor UI.
These pages document Yrendr 1.1.0. Switch to 1.0 in the version selector for the original release's instructions.
