Package a project
Use Menu > Package project... when a project needs to travel with the source files it references. Packaging is deliberately separate from normal project saving.
Prerequisites
- Save or create the project you want to package.
- Make sure every required file-backed media source is still available.
- Choose a destination with enough free space for the project and copied media.
Create a project package
- Open Menu > Package project....
- Choose the destination ZIP file.
- Allow Yrendr to validate and collect referenced media.
- Keep the completed ZIP intact when transferring or archiving the project.
The package uses this layout:
ProjectName.yrendr
media/
referenced-video.mp4
referenced-image.png
referenced-audio.wav
The included .yrendr file remains a normal lightweight Yrendr container. File-backed source references are rewritten to relative paths under media/.
Filename and media handling
Duplicate source filenames receive unique names inside media/, preventing one asset from overwriting another. Media files are stored in the outer ZIP without recompression because formats such as MP4, JPEG and MP3 are already compressed.
Caution: Yrendr stops packaging when a path-like referenced media file is missing. This prevents the application from producing an archive that appears portable but is incomplete.
Open a packaged project
- Extract the outer ZIP to a folder.
- Keep the included
.yrendrfile beside the extractedmedia/directory. - Open the
.yrendrfile in Yrendr.
Note: The outer ZIP is a transfer/archive format. Yrendr opens the
.yrendrproject inside it, not the package ZIP itself.
