Troubleshooting Version 1.1Updated 26 Sep 2026

Missing or moved media

Normal .yrendr projects reference video, image and audio files instead of embedding their bytes. Moving or deleting those files can therefore break a source reference while leaving the project container itself valid.

Restore a missing source

  1. Confirm whether the referenced file was moved, renamed or deleted.
  2. Select a compatible clip that uses the missing source.
  3. Open its controls in Inspector.
  4. Choose Replace media source.
  5. Select the correct replacement file.
  6. Review the affected clip in Preview.

How Yrendr resolves paths

  • Existing absolute paths are used directly.
  • Relative paths are resolved from the directory containing the .yrendr file.
  • Yrendr does not perform a broad filename search across unrelated folders.

Tip: Keep source media under a stable project directory when possible. Yrendr can store local media references relatively, making folder-level moves safer.

Prevent missing media when sharing

Use Menu > Package project... before transferring or archiving an edit. Extract the entire package before opening the included .yrendr file so its relative media/... references remain valid.
