Clip properties and transforms
Visual clip state is stored per timeline instance. This means two clips created from the same Project Viewer asset can use different positions, scales, rotations and timing.
Common clip timing
Inspector exposes duration controls for the selected clip.
Source-backed clips also retain their source timing information. This allows trimming, splitting and duplicating clips without losing their position within the original media.
Visual transform
Visual clips such as video, images, text and shapes can be positioned, scaled and rotated independently.
Inspector provides precise transform values, while Preview can be used for direct visual editing.
Aspect lock keeps horizontal and vertical scaling linked when proportional resizing is required.
Direct manipulation
Selecting a visual clip displays transform controls directly in Preview.
Drag inside the selected visual to reposition it. Use the resize handles around its bounds to change its size, or use the rotation handle to rotate it.
Preview manipulation and Inspector modify the same underlying project properties, so changes made in either place remain synchronized.
Canvas snapping can assist while positioning and rotating visuals. Hold Shift while rotating to snap the rotation in 15-degree increments.
Replace source
Video, image and audio clips expose Replace media source where supported.
Replacing the source keeps the existing timeline clip and its editing state while changing the media it references.
