Welcome to Yrendr
Yrendr 1.0.0 is a desktop non-linear video editor for Windows. It combines timeline editing, audio processing, automation, procedural visuals and a plugin system in one compact workspace.
The editing model
Yrendr separates reusable project assets from timeline instances. Media and generated assets live in Project Viewer. You place instances of those assets on tracks in the Timeline, then use Inspector and Automation to change how they behave.
The editor is non-destructive. Moving, trimming, transforming or processing a clip changes project data, not the original source file.
Main workspace areas
- Project Viewer stores imported media and generated assets.
- Preview shows the current frame and supports direct visual manipulation.
- Inspector uses a Master/track scope dropdown for project-wide settings, track settings, selected clips and plugin chains.
- Automation edits keyframes for animatable clip properties.
- Timeline owns time, tracks, clip placement, groups and playback navigation.
Effects and plugins
Plugin FX are attached to tracks or Master. Yrendr deliberately does not maintain a hidden per-clip plugin chain. For visual content, built-in clip processing runs before track FX, compositing and Master FX. Audio runs through track FX, the timeline mix and Master FX before playback or export.
Procedural generators are provided through the same plugin system and become normal transformable timeline clips.
Project format
Normal projects use the .yrendr extension. A .yrendr file is a lightweight ZIP container containing manifest.json and project.json. Source video, image and audio files remain external and are referenced by path.
For transfer or archiving, choose Menu > Package project.... Yrendr creates a normal .zip containing a portable .yrendr file plus a media/ directory with the referenced source files.
Stable version
These docs describe Yrendr 1.0.0 as implemented by the current stable source included with this site package.
