Select, move and duplicate clips

Use selection and duplication tools to arrange clips without changing their source files.

Select clips

• Click a clip to select it.
• Use the timeline selection behavior to work with multiple clips.
• Ctrl+A selects all timeline clips.
• Grouped clips can participate in selection and movement as a related set.

Move clips

1. Select the clip or clips you want to move.
2. Drag the selection horizontally to change time or vertically to move it between tracks.
3. Release the pointer when the destination is correct.

Use A to nudge the selected clips by -0.10 s and D to nudge them by +0.10 s.

Duplicate clips

1. Select the source clip or clips.
2. Press Ctrl+D.
3. Move the duplicate to the required time or track.

Tip: Enable timeline snapping when you need the moved or duplicated clip to align precisely with nearby edit points.
