Project will not open

A current Yrendr project is a .yrendr ZIP container with validated JSON members. Yrendr rejects malformed or unsupported containers before constructing the live project.

Check the project

  1. Confirm that the project file ends with .yrendr.
  2. If you received a package ZIP, extract it first and open the .yrendr file inside it.
  3. Confirm that the project container includes manifest.json and project.json.
  4. If the file was edited manually, confirm that both members contain valid UTF-8 JSON.
  5. Press F8 after a handled load failure and inspect Debug Log for details.

What Yrendr validates

Yrendr checks the project manifest format, format version, project.json reference, external-media mode, safe archive paths and project payload size before loading the data.

Note: Missing external media does not normally make the .yrendr container invalid. The project may still open with source paths that no longer resolve.

Caution: Keep an untouched copy of a damaged project while troubleshooting. Do not overwrite your only copy during manual repair attempts.
