Project files
A normal Yrendr project uses the .yrendr extension. The file is a lightweight ZIP container for project state; it is not a media bundle and it is not a plain JSON document.
Container structure
A current .yrendr file contains exactly the canonical project members used by the editor:
manifest.json
project.json
manifest.jsonidentifies the Yrendr project format, format version and external-media mode.project.jsonstores editor-owned project state such as tracks, clips, assets, transforms, automation and Track/Master FX chains.
Note: Video, image and audio bytes are not embedded in a normal
.yrendrproject. The project stores references to those files.
How source paths are stored
When a referenced source file is inside the same directory tree as the project, Yrendr stores a relative path where possible. Other files remain referenced by their absolute path.
When loading a project, Yrendr resolves relative source paths from the directory containing the .yrendr file.
Save a project
- Press
Ctrl+Sto save the current project. - If the project has no path yet, choose a destination.
- Use
Ctrl+Shift+Swhen you want Save project as... and a different.yrendrpath.
Yrendr writes project data through a temporary file and replaces the destination only after the new container is complete.
Project validation
Before loading project state, Yrendr validates the .yrendr extension, ZIP structure, manifest.json, project format version, media mode and project.json payload.
Caution: Manually changing the ZIP contents can make the project invalid. Keep
manifest.jsonandproject.jsonas valid UTF-8 JSON and do not add unsafe archive paths or symbolic links.
Move a project with its media
Use Menu > Package project... when another computer or archive must receive the referenced source files as well.
