Preferences & Appearance Version 1.0Updated 26 Sep 2026

General settings

Open Settings with Ctrl+Alt+,. Preferences are application-level and are not stored inside one project.

General tab

Current options include Preview quality, accurate animated shadows, editor activity behind dialogs and audio waveform visibility.

Preview quality applies to both paused Preview frames and active playback. Yrendr no longer keeps a second Playback quality setting.

Editing tab

Configure the defaults for Timeline snapping, Ripple editing, Canvas snap mode and generated-item duration.

Generated item duration is clamped to a practical range and is used for new editor-generated assets such as still/generated visuals.

Export tab

Choose the default output format used when the Render window opens.

Default video format can be MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM.

Default audio format can be WAV, MP3, FLAC, M4A, OGG or Opus.

These are starting defaults only. You can still choose a different format for an individual render without changing Settings.

Appearance tab

Choose an installed skin, install a schema-v1 skin JSON and edit the four extra colors used for track/object accents. The selected skin is previewed directly in the settings window. Additional admin-published custom skins can be previewed and downloaded from the Skins page. Built-in palettes are already included in Yrendr and are not duplicated there.

Reset

Reset restores Yrendr defaults in the settings window. Apply commits the new preference set.
